Breakfast with Santa

The Officers' Club had a special Breakfast with Santa today for all children with a deployed parent. The girls had a nice time and put in last minute requests with Santa.

Ho Ho Ho

This Christmas Brian's unit will be shedding their ACU (camo) hats for Santa hats.

Christmas Party

We went to a Christmas Party at Kid's Zone tonight. The girls decorated cookies, took pictures with Santa, and made a reindeer craft using tracings of their foot and hands.

Hoops

Kaitlyn started Pee Wee Basketbal today.

Advent

We wanted to share our Advent Calendar with everyone. Nana bought it for the girls when she was here. Each day there is a box and in each box there is a piece or two to our Christmas scene.

St. Nicholas Bread

Kaitlyn had a St. Nicholas Celebration at Religion Class today. They each got a bag of treats and a traditional St. Nicholas Bread.

Sending Some Holiday Cheer

Our Family Group got together today to make some holiday gifts for the soldiers. The two bases our unit is located at has Christmas Trees so we made each a personalized Christmas ball.

Each soldiers will also have a stocking. We filled them with chocolates, candy canes, crackers, chips, and packs of gum.

St. Nicholas Day

In Germany, Nikolaus is usually celebrated on a small scale. Children put a boot called Nikolaus-Stiefel outside the front door on the night of December 5 to December 6. St. Nicholas fills the boots with fruit, nuts, small gifts and sweets. At the same time he checks up on the children to see if they were good, polite, and helpful the last year. If the were not, they will have a tree branch in their boots instead.

Kaitlyn and Delia recieved an apple, bar of chocolate, and lipgloss set.

Before I start decorating for Christmas I thought I would take some pictures of our apartment to show everyone.
