Lorraine American Cemetery

Today we had an amazing experience.  The girls and I went to Lorraine American Cemetary in St. Avold, France.  We helped other American Girl Scouts and French Scouts to place American and French flags at some of the 10, 487 headstones.

Lorraine is the largest American World War II cemetary in Europe. The US 80th Infantry Division liberated the area on November 27, 1944.  This was the perfect way to start Memorial Day weekend.
